Hello world !
I think I should tell a small portion about me and what this blog will be about.
I have a lot of free time although I am married, me and my wife can’t have kids, so we are content with our life in 2.
My wife does not play, either video games, board games or tabletop RPGs.
Those 3 hobbies are a huge part of my life, and I will write more about each one below.
My hobbies
I was born in 1990, and I started playing video games with a SNES console. My best Christmas gift ever in 1995. I played a lot of games, usually renting it with my parents in a video store.
In 1998 I got a Gameboy color and Pokémon. From there, PS1, PS2, etc..
Later in life I discovered Table Top RPGs. I was “invited” to a group to play AD&D. I was around 12 and the group was around 15 years old. I remember vividly how the campaign and the systems blew my mind. I could use my imagination to role play anything I wanted.
It had a huge impact in my formational years. I later presented a very watered-down system called 3D&T to my school friends, where I made many groups to play with. As usual, I had to GM the sessions, and rarely, I was a player.
At College, I started to play DnD 3.5e, and our campaign lasted 2 years.
When I left College, I was busy, recently married (I married at 22 years old), and I did not have time to play much, but I found a dedicated group for board games. I was introduced to this hobby, with games for adults like Russian railroads, Agricola, Terra Mystica, etc.
I bought and played many games with multiple groups, it was an amazing time.
2. Life Happens
Then I moved to Japan… Around 8 years ago.
I find difficult to play games in English in a group around here. And due to cultural circumstances, I am more introspective now, and I rather play alone most of the time.
I became a Solo Gamer.
I play games with groups from time to time, and I tried TTRPGs around here, but my excitement and happiness is crunching games alone in my man cave. That is my natural habitat and were I am happier.
3. The Blog
After playing stuff alone for 8 years, I have a lot to share, so I will post from time to time, to update what I am playing or what I played in the past.
I will try to give my honest opinion, and please, take it with a grain of salt.
I am not perfect, so if you have anything to share or improve, please post in the comments! Constructive feedback is always appreciated.
See you around :)
